Following are different Poker hands those are arranged in decreasing order of their strength.
  • Royal Flush: Royal flush is the strongest hand at poker game. There is nothing that can beat this hand. This hand comprises of A, K, Q, J and 10 of same suite. This hand is very rare to find but in case you got it you can easily knock out any of your opponents out of the game.
  • Straight Flush: This is one of the strongest hands of poker that can only be beaten by Royal Flush. This hand consists of any five cards that are of same suite and are arranged in a sequence. 10, 9, 8, 7 and 6 of spades can be a good example of straight flush. If two or more players have got straight flush then the hand that has got cards of higher ranks will win the round.
  • Four of a kind: The hand consisting of four cards of same rank irrespective of their suite is known as Four of a kind. In the event of two or more players having Four of a kind then the player that has got cards of high rank will win the round. A hand consisting of Q, Q, Q, Q and 6 and the other hand consisting of 10, 10, 10, 10 and K are both four of a kind but the former hand will win the game as Q has a higher rank than 10.
  • Full House: Full House consists of Three of kind (three cards of same rank) and a pair (two cards of same rank). If a comparison has to be made regarding the stronger Full House then it is seen as to which three of a kind has got a higher rank. 9, 9, 9, 5 and 2 is an example of Full House.
  • Flush: A hand of five cards of same suite irrespective of their ranks is known as Flush. In case a two players have got Flush then the hand that consists of cards of higher ranks will win the game. K-J-9-3-2 is a strong Flush.
  • Straight: Five cards arranged in a sequence irrespective of their suits are known as Straight. Like all other cards, even in this hand the cards with higher ranks win the game. For instance, Q-J-10-9-8 is a stronger hand in comparison to 10-9-8-7-6.
  • Three of a kind: In this hand there must be three cards of the same rank irrespective of their suites. In this case if two players have got three of a kind then the rank of the three identical cards will be considered. If those three cards are also same then the remaining two cards will be checked. Then it will be decided which hand has won the round.
  • Two Pairs: A hand that has got two pairs (‘pair’ refers to two cards of same rank) is known Two Pairs. It is must that the ranks of pairs should be different otherwise it would make up four of a kind.
  • Pair: This hand comprises of two cards that are of same rank. For example, Q-Q-9-3-2 is a Pair. Betting on this hand won’t benefit you much.
  • High Card: The poorest of all poker hands is High Card. In this hand, no card matches each other. While comparing, the hand that has got cards of higher ranking wins the round. For instance, although Q-10-6-4-2 and Q-10-5-3-2 are high cards but the former will win the round as 6 beats 5.
